“Turnout from the Ground Up”
with Alicia Head

Alicia Head has identified key concepts related to training more awareness, proprioception, and deep connection to the structures that facilitate turnout in the dancer. She uses helpful visuals to demonstrate the anatomy, bone rhythms, and sensations in the body that bring a more integrated approach to training.

Learn how to spot common postural misalignments, how to address them, and how they are all related to poor control of turnout. This whole-body approach: breath, bones, fascia, and muscles can be harnessed to change the way instructors think about, cue and instruct this important concept in the dance community.

The Arabesque

The arabesque is one of the most beautiful, delightful, and complicated parts of the ballet syllabus. Done correctly, it can be a joy to perform as well as to watch. Done incorrectly, it can cause injury and damage the line of the dancer. This video will illustrate the correct way to perform an arabesque, as well as strategies for preventing injury.
